The Biotech VIP Tour of Israel
featuring Marc Lichtenfeld

Tel Aviv - Jerusalem - Bethlehem – The Dead Sea April 25 - May 6, 2013
Extension to Jordan through May 9

Dear Reader,

For centuries, pilgrims from all over the world have flocked to the Holy Land of Israel.

They’ve come from all over to see the Church of the Nativity… the hallowed Western Wall… the mystical Dead Sea… and the sacred slopes of Mount Meron…

But lately, Israel has been attracting a different kind of pilgrim.

A pilgrim in search of profits.

That’s right.

“New” pilgrims from all over the world are flocking to Israel in droves.

And they’re taking advantage of what could very well be the most resilient, the most robust, and the most remarkable economy in modern history.

“...transformed itself from a semi-socialist backwater into a high-tech superpower."”

– The Economist

Just how strong has Israel’s economy become?

It’s grown an astonishing 50-fold
in the last 60 years!

Today, Israel has emerged as perhaps the hottest place on Earth for foreign investors and entrepreneurs to seek “miraculous” profits.

In fact, some of the world’s most visible companies are “getting in” on Israel right now:
  • Google’s CEO and Chairman, Eric Schmidt, recently said that the United States is the best place in the world for entrepreneurs. But, “after the U.S., Israel is the best.”
  • Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer called Microsoft “an Israeli company as much as an American company.” He said this due to the sheer size and importance of Microsoft’s Israeli teams.
  • Berkshire Hathaway’s Warren Buffett never invested beyond U.S. shores until 2006. Where was his first-ever foreign investment? Israel. Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway made a $4.5-billion investment in ISCAR Metalworking… even though Israel was in the middle of a skirmish with Lebanon!
The mainstream press has finally noticed Israel’s fast-growing status as a hotbed of technology, entrepreneurship, innovation and investment opportunities, as well.

Take a look:
  • “Per capita, it gives birth to more technology startups and is the destination for more venture capital than any other country in the world. Its economy barely flinched during the financial crisis.”
    – The Atlantic
  • “Israel appears on track this year to expand its gross domestic product – a key measure of economic health – by more than 2.8%... almost twice the recent growth rate reported in the U.S. and far better than Europe's contracting economies.”
    – The LA Times
  • “After Silicon Valley, Tel Aviv ranks best for tech startups. So why Tel Aviv? The city is overflowing with software developers and venture capital. Larger companies, including Google, have set up offices there. Facebook is now there, too…”
    – Bloomberg.com
Israel’s also emerged as a world leader in venture capital investments:

Yes… BIG MONEY is now flowing into Israel.

So what does this mean for you?

YOU’VE got a chance to get in on
Israel’s “economic miracle,” as well

… just like Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Warren Buffett and many more.

AND… you can do it NOW… while Israel’s economy is hotter than ever.

But first, I’d like to show you why investing in Israel RIGHT NOW is smarter than ever.

Why You Should Consider
Investing In Israel Right Now

“Look, we doubled our economic situation relative to America while multiplying our population fivefold and fighting three wars. This is totally unmatched in the economic history of the world.”

– Israeli Political Economist Gidi Grinstein

While it might seem counterintuitive to invest in a country that just got finished with a nasty skirmish with its enemies…

… history shows that now is the best time to invest in Israeli companies.

Let me explain.

Over the past 12 years, if investors had the courage to invest their money at the start of hostilities between Israel and the Palestinians, they would’ve fared very well.

In fact, they would’ve fared much, much better than if they’d invested in the S&P 500.

For example, on September 28, 2000, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon made an appearance on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem – just steps from the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

This led to clashes between Israeli police and Palestinians.

Later that same year, the early stages of the dot-com collapse reared its ugly head. And, unfortunately, Israeli stocks were not immune.

However, if you had invested in the TA-100 Index (the 100 largest stocks on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange) the day after Sharon’s infamous stroll, you’d be up 36% five years later…

… while investors in the S&P 500 were still down 7%.

Eight years later, in December 2008, things got a bit testy between Israel and Hamas.

What’s more, the world was still smack dab in the middle of the global financial crisis. The collapses of Lehman Brothers and Washington Mutual were just three months old. And the bear market was raging.

It was a scary time to invest.

However, if you invested in Israel’s TA-100 in 2008, you would have seen a three-year return of 85% versus the S&P 500’s 55%.

And if you still held those stocks today, you’d have doubled your money in the TA-100 (a 101% return) while the S&P posted 76% gains.

Since November 14, 2012, when Israel and Hamas were at it again, the TA-100 jumped 4% in less than a month.

History shows that investing in Israeli stocks during times of turmoil is a great way to make significant profits over the next few years.

And that’s exactly what I’d like to show you how to do first hand in Israel.

This Is YOUR Chance To Get In On Israel’s “Economic Miracle”… AND Enjoy A VIP Adventure Throughout Israel’s Holy Land!

Join us on The The Biotech VIP Tour of Israel… and our investment research experts will show you the fastest, easiest ways to get in on Israel’s most promising moneymaking opportunities.

The first company visit will be at Evogene.

Evogene’s mission is to be the world leader in applying “Plant Genomics” to improve plant performance and address the global demand for food, feed and fuel.

Crystal chandeliers hang from the high ceilings, as well as candle-lights, picturesque floor tiles, unique serving cutlery and an eclectic collection of objects and items from around the world.

Company Visit in Caesarea and on to Haifa

It’s your last day in Tel Aviv!

Once we’re done with our visit to Itamar Medical Co., we’ll take a well-deserved break for lunch at a local restaurant.

Then, it’s time to explore!

In the afternoon, we’ll explore the ancient town of Caesarea.

Caesarea has a population of only 4,500 people… yet it’s a history-rich town and a great place to visit.

Herod the Great built the town over 2,000 years ago. It served as an administrative center during the Roman Empire. And you can see the still-standing Roman Amphitheatre and Crusader walls in town.

After Caesarea, we’ll make our way to Haifa for a panoramic visit of the splendid Bahai Gardens.

Haifa is Israel’s major port and its third-largest city behind Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. It’s often compared to San Francisco because of its hills and overall beauty.

Later on that evening, we’re off to the Hagoshrim Kibbutz and Resort Hotel… where you’ll stay for the next two nights.

DAY 7 – Wednesday, May 1, 2013
Golan Heights

We’ll start off the day with breakfast at the hotel… then make our way by private chartered bus to the history-rich Golan Heights.

The Golan Heights is a green rocky plateau located to the east of the Sea of Galilee in the far north of Israel.

Despite its size, the Golan Heights is very important… supplying Israel with over one third of its water. What’s more, it’s been the site of many important battles. While we’re in the area, we’ll stop at Mount Bental, which offers breathtaking views across Israel’s Galilee.

After that, it’s time to sample some of the region’s surprisingly excellent wine!

You’ll enjoy a private wine tasting and gourmet lunch at the Golan Heights Winery – an award-winning winery famous the world over amongst discerning wine enthusiasts.

“Yarden,” “Gamla” and “Golan” are its three main commercial labels… with Yarden wines being the most expensive… and Golan the least. The winery also has one exquisite label: “Katzrin,” which is produced from a different mixture every year using only the best crop.

Once you’ve had your fill of fine wine, we’ll return to the Hagoshrim Kibbutz and Resort Hotel to freshen up before dinner.

Then, you’re in for a special (and rather unusual) dinner treat.

That’s because this evening, you’ll get to enjoy an authentic, gourmet dinner at a local farm!

You’ll dine at the Dubrovin Farm - a 120-year-old building with a spectacular garden.

The owners of the farm – the Dubrovins - came from Russia 115 years ago and founded the new settlement. You’ll notice the atmosphere of Russia in everything: pottery, furniture, clothes and more.

What’s more, special authentic Russian dresses were designed for the restaurant’s waiters and waitresses.

After dinner at the Dubrovin farm, we’ll return to the Hagoshrim Kibbutz and Resort Hotel to retire for the night.

DAY 8 – Thursday, May 2, 2013
Nazareth, Sea of Galilee and Jerusalem

Today, after breakfast and checking out of the hotel, you’ll visit one of the most sacred cities in the world.

Nazareth – childhood home of Jesus Christ.

Nazareth is an unforgettable experience. While you’re in this world-famous city…
  • You’ll explore the old city’s narrow passageways and its historical and religious sites…
  • You’ll smell the wonderful scents of different spices and taste the special food and sweets of the old eastern market…
  • You’ll walk through the many stores offering wonderful souvenirs…
  • You’ll feel the residents’ warmth as they welcome you with open arms…
  • You’ll discover the Nazareth Magic.
After our tour of Nazareth, we’ll board our private chartered bus again and go to the history-rich Sea of Galilee – the largest freshwater lake in Israel.

Here, we’ll visit the ancient fishing village of Capernaum on the north shore of the Sea of Galilee. It is here where Jesus healed a paralytic and St. Peter’s mother-in-law.

We’ll also visit the hallowed Mount of Beatitudes – the place where Jesus gave his important sermon on the mountain to the multitude that assembled to see and hear Him.

For lunch, we’ll dine at the Marinado Port Restaurant.

Then, we depart for perhaps the holiest and most religiously significant city in the entire world. The city of Jerusalem!

Once we arrive in Jerusalem, you’ll enjoy a fast check-in into the lovely Mamilla Hotel Jerusalem and then enjoy some welcome cocktails.

Then, after some free time to freshen up, we’ll hit the town for an authentic dinner at the Bulghourji restaurant.

This restaurant is located in an ancient and highly impressive building which was once a burghul/bulgur factory. And it’s evoked in the name that has remained unchanged for centuries.

Bulghourji is renowned for its wonderful Armenian dishes – all based on fine meat prepared in traditional style, and the best home cooking. The warm atmosphere in the restaurant draws together elements of Jerusalem old and new.

After dinner, it’s back to the Mamilla Hotel Jerusalem for the night.

DAY 9 – Friday, May 3, 2013
Financial Overview with Marc Lichtenfeld, Bethlehem, Masada and Jerusalem

Today will be a day you’ll remember for a long, long time.

We’ll start with a gourmet breakfast at the Mamilla Hotel Jerusalem. And during this gourmet breakfast, I will give you my overview on Israel’s investing climate… and the best ways for you to play it.

I’ll also answer any questions you may have at this point. Please… feel free to ask me anything about investing in Israel!

Then, right after breakfast, we’ll board our private chartered bus and take a tour of none other than Bethlehem – birthplace of Jesus Christ.

It is here that you’ll get to see, feel and experience one of Christianity’s most sacred sites: The Church of the Nativity, birthplace of Jesus Christ.

Situated on Manger Square 5 miles from Jerusalem, the church is built over a grotto where the Virgin Mary is said to have given birth to Jesus.

Christians have venerated the site since St. Justin Martyr identified it as the site of Jesus' birth in the second century. It is the oldest church in the Holy Land still in use and one of the oldest churches in the world.

For lunch, we’ll go the world-famous Masada National Park – famous for its stunning rock plateaus.

Masada is one of the most famous historical and archaeological sites in Jewish history. The abundance of well-preserved ruins unearthed by the diggings make this visit an interesting and impressive experience.

A cable car makes the ascent from the east side of this cliff towering above the Dead Sea basin.

The excavations at Masada unearthed two major findings: The well-appointed fortress built by Herod, decorated with frescoes, mosaics, handsome patios and colonnades – and traces of remarkably simple and functional structures for housing and command headquarters were left by the Zealots, a Jewish faction resisting the Romans.

The site served, for a short period, as a refuge for these inspired patriots. Looking down to the base of the cliff it is possible to see the remains of Roman camps used during the siege of Masada.

We’ll also make a brief stopover at the mystical Dead Sea – the lowest place on earth at 1,388 feet below sea level and famous for its salt content and near-miraculous healing properties.

Rich in minerals, the Dead Sea attracts vacationers from around the world who come to enjoy the thermo-mineral springs, in Dead Sea water, the bromine-saturated air – and of course a float in the salty waters is a must!

If we have time, we’ll grab a refreshing drink at the Dead Sea Hotel & Spa.

Then it’s back to Jerusalem and the Mamilla Hotel Jerusalem to freshen up before dinner at the Arabesque Restaurant in the American Colony Hotel.

Situated in a hotel famed for hosting ambassadors and international figures, this venue serves a selection of Oriental and international food on its outdoor terrace.

Traditional Middle Eastern specialties include shashlik kebab, grilled to taste with market vegetables; a selection of mezze and musician, a Bedouin dish of roast chicken, rice and marinated vegetables.

Those with more European taste will find the usual steak, veal and fresh fish to choose from.

After dinner, we’ll spend the night at the hotel.

DAY 10 – Saturday, May 4, 2013
Jerusalem

Today will likely be one of the most memorable days of your tour… if not your entire life.

Here’s why.

Today, you’ll get to see some of world’s most famous religious sites.

After breakfast in the hotel, we’ll start our tour with a stop at the Mount of Olives for a breath-taking overview of the Old City of Jerusalem.

You’ll visit at the area of the garden at the foot of the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem (Gethsemane), most famous as the place where Jesus and his disciples prayed the night before Jesus' crucifixion.

We’ll then start the walking tour from the Jewish Quarter. Our first station will be the Western Wall.

The Western Wall is a remnant of the ancient wall that surrounded the Jewish Temple's courtyard.

It’s one of the most sacred sites in Judaism outside of the Temple Mount itself.

Innovation in Israel:
Some Of Israel’s Greatest Inventions

Israel’s home to only 1/1,000th of the world’s population… with only 7.7 million people.

However, because of the heavy emphasis on innovation and entrepreneurship in its business culture, Israelis have produced a disproportionately large number of world-changing inventions.

Here’s a “short list” of 25 critically important inventions from Israel:
  1. Google advanced text search algorithm
  2. Intel processors and Pentium MMX chips
  3. The cellphone

  24. The Wind Tulip (a silent, cost-effective, vibration-free wind turbine that’s pleasing to the eye)
  25. The Smart Hospital Bed (A contact-free continuous patient monitoring solution)

Then, it’s time for one of the most spectacular culinary tours you’ll ever experience!

This culinary tour – inside Jerusalem’s Old City – offers the best of the best of the area's foods and beverages.

This culinary tour includes:
  • A Taste of Hummus – Famed Old City fare at its best.
  • A Taste of Authentic Lamb Kebab – Minced deliciousness, flame broiled.
  • A Taste of Ethnic Breads – Beloved savory and sweet bakery classics. Group will enjoy a fresh-baked Arab-style, sesame seed-crusted bageleh ring with za’atar on the side, sweet pastries or flat and gooey sesame crackers.

  • A Taste of Halva and a Selection of Candies – For the sake of the sweetness. Some bites of locally made halva, along with a 50-gram package of coated chickpea candies and dragée.
  • A Taste of Old City juices and a taste of Authentic Coffee or Tea Blends – Aromatic, steamy fuel for the journey.
After the culinary tour, we’ll continue to the Christian quarter where we’ll enter the church of the Holy Sepulcher.

Then, we’ll continue to the Ethiopian church to a short roof tour of Old City of Jerusalem roofs.

This will be followed by a walk through the Armenian quarter of the Old City… where you can glance at the incredible Armenian paintings.

We’ll then drive back to the hotel and freshen up before dinner at the Dolphin Seafood Restaurant.

The restaurant is located on Ben-Shetach Street in one of the city's hottest restaurant and bar districts. It’s famous for its fried calamari and its oven-baked blue lobsters in wine and Roquefort dressing.

The restaurant also has a massive selection of both traditional Israeli fish (musht, burri and denis) and fish from further afield (sea bass).

After dinner, it’s back to the hotel for the evening.

DAY 11 – Sunday, May 5, 2013
Jerusalem

Today you’ll enjoy two up-close and personal meetings with some of Israel's most influential business leaders.

You’ll start today with breakfast in the hotel.

Then, you’re in for a special treat. You see, right after breakfast, you’ll get to sit in on an exclusive presentation with Dr. Karnit Flug, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Israel.

Dr. Flug is second only to Professor Stanley Fischer at Israel's Central Bank, widely regarded as one of the most well-run central banks in the world.

During this special presentation, Dr. Flug will discuss the Israeli economy, its central bank and Israel’s investing climate right now. She’ll also answer any questions you may have.

After Dr. Klug’s presentation, you’ll then get to spend the lion’s shore of the day on your own exploring all the sites of Jerusalem.

However, in the afternoon, we’ve arranged yet another special treat for you.

You’ll be going to the home of Martin S. Gerstel – Chairman of Compugen – for a private wine tasting!

Here, you can enjoy some great wine in a relaxed, casual atmosphere and have a nice chat with Martin – Chairman of one of Israel’s most prestigious biotech companies!

(By the way, this is quite a big deal! That’s because Martin S. Gerstel boasts an extremely impressive career track record… to say the least. For example, he’s the former founder and CEO of ALZA Corporation –which he eventually sold to Johnson and Johnson for US$10.5 billion!)

Once we leave Martin’s historic house, it’s time for a farewell dinner at the authentic Lavan Restaurant.

You’ll then spend your final night back at the hotel.

DAY 12 – Monday, May 6, 2013

It’s our last day in Israel.

Today you’ll check out of the hotel, head to the airport, and fly back home.
